Zinc Oxide CreamZinc oxide is one of the most natural and most effective ingredients for handling skin problems before they start. There are many creams available, and most are multi purpose, but the ones folks are most used to seeing are marked for baby diaper treatment. To be effective as sunscreen, it just needs to have at least 3% zinc oxide, and no citrus or other acids. Generally though, baby diaper creams are excellent for preventing chafing between the thighs and under the breasts. Related to our next favorite product, tea tree oil, the two together are an excellent spot treatment for chafing welts or inflamed pores on the body. The reason why is because a zit on the body (usually) happens for a different reason than a zit on the face. On the body, the culprit is usually a clogged sweat gland, a damaged hair follicle (such as from fabric of clothes pulling the hairs slightly), or pinching of the skin near a sweat or oil gland, and it naturally trying to push any infection out through the surface. If you have this problem, treat yourself the same as you would a baby with diaper rash. Clean yourself thoroughly, preferably with an anibacterial soap with triclosan or sea salts, dry yourself well, and apply the zinc oxide cream to the problem spots. Reapply as needed, but be sure to powder yourself with talcum powder or cornstarch. Sprinkle yourself with powder every time the area gets moist. Zinc oxide cream can also be mixed with a hand cream to give it some
sun protection ability. Most hand creams don't contain any sunscreens
even though the hands need as much protection as the face.
