How to Apply Blush for Dark Skin |
|
|
Makeup artist Claire DeGraft shows how to apply blusher. In this
video, you'll notice that she is using a professional makeup palette.
Normal over the counter makeups usually contain too much kaolin or other
ingredients that obscure the natural skin tone, while professional makeups
except for foundations and concealers, tend not to. In other words,
you
won't get the same effect using a red or burnt orange blush from your local
pharmacy as you would from a professional kit. The reason is
that professional palettes are made using mostly just pigment and translucent
powder or cream base.
So I recommend that people with very dark skin or mixed tones such as
myself, who have trouble finding colors that match through the seasons,
try to find a professional palette. Most beauty schools have them,
but you might get a better deal buying a lot of five or more for your family,
from a wholesaler. Most of them are made in China or Hong Kong,
and there are a few sellers on eBay who sell them for a total of about
$20-$30 per palette.
